As we know, the busiest and most exciting week of the summer is approaching at the speed of light.
Don't forget that the Avon Fireworks and Salute to USA celebration kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 at Nottingham Lake. Get there early or feel like you're stuck in New York City traffic (and expect the same clearing out).
With more than 10,000 shells, it IS the largest fireworks display in Colorado.
Also, you're likely to see more lacrosse players than you'd ever expect would fit into one tiny little valley for the 2008 Vail Lacrosse Shootout, which is in full swing through next weekend.
Games take place on Ford Field in Vail, the Vail athletic fields, Nottingham Park in Avon and on the soccer fields in Edwards. It's a regular extravaganza.
