Wine is really the main attraction at the Beav this weekend.
The Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival runs Aug. 7-9 and is a high-end carnival of sorts for wine connoisseurs and foodies.

The Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival brings an array of tasting, dinner, luncheons and demonstrations to the Beav Aug. 7-9.
From wine auctions to fly fishing, the festival features winners from the San Francisco International Wine and World Spirits competitions and celebrity chefs Michael Cimarusti, Joseph Manzare, Marco Stabile, Christoph Wagner and Tim Love.
The action begins at 6 p.m Thursday, Aug. 7 with the Vail Valley Wine Auction at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Tickets are $200 and include a five-course wine dinner, music, dancing and the chance to bid on an exclusive collection of bottles. Proceeds benefit The Bright Future Foundation, Colorado Mountain College and Edwards Rotary Club.
On Friday, activities range from a guided fly-fishing tour on the Eagle River followed by a four-course wine luncheon at Spago ($200 or $100 for just the luncheon), a free culinary demonstration on Beaver Creek Plaza at 5 p.m. to a "Best Of" wine dinner at Splendido at the Chateau from 7 to 10 p.m. ($125).
Saturday is when things really get spicy. There's a little exercise in the mix, too, beginning with the Walk & Wine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a guided hike followed by a wine lunch at the Beaver Creek Chophouse for $100. For those wanting to cultivate the craft, Splendido is offering a cooking class followed by wine luncheon from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. also for $100.
Then, from 3 to 4 p.m., find out all you want to know about white wine and sushi for $50 at Foxnut. There's a free chance to learn from the pros again at a culinary demonstration on the plaza at 5 p.m.
The festival wraps up with a "Best-Of" Walk Around Tasting at the Vilar Performing Arts Center from 7 to 10 p.m. for $50.
