The perfect chocolate chip cookie ... is there really such a thing?
Ah, 3 p.m.; the best time of day to be at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain for free chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven.
This is where Beaver Creek's sweetest custom begins. It's the annual Beaver Creek Cookie Competition and It's that time of year when the resort requests submissions from anyone who thinks he or she has the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe. It could be your grandma's, your mother's, your uncle's ...
Anyone who can send or deliver 12 cookie samples to the Beav along with an original recipe is eligible.
Cookies will be judged mostly on taste, but also on appearance, texture and on how easy it is to reproduce the recipe.
Five finalists will be selected for the ultimate verdict. These cookies will convene at the Beav on judgment day - Nov. 26, 2008 - opening day of Beaver Creek's ski season. Guests will cast their vote and the winning morsel will become Beaver Creek's signature cookie, to be distributed fresh out of the oven FREE to guests daily throughout the year. The winner will receive a $100 Beaver Creek VISA gift card.
All cookie submissions must be received between Oct. 20 and 22, delivered or mailed to Beaver Creek Resort Company.
